Life Cycles is a celebration of the bicycle, and is sure to entertain anyone who has ever ridden one.

After ordering the bluray backin the begining of october, I could not wait to watch this movie. Watching trailers on youtube over and over. Watching the pink bike edits. I could not wait to see this movie. The anticipation of seeing what 4 years of filming a 45 min mountain bike movie could bring, was killing me. I was seeing they had screenings all across the world and I was no where near close enough to participate. Well folks, it arrived yesterday and I cannot express how much this movie deserves every bit of respect.

This movie brings you such a beautiful display of cinematography. Great creativity in how they intertwinded a great metaphor of life giving the movie a story line of sorts. Its basically the story of life in general but using the bicycles as its focal point. I dont want to spoil anything about the film. The sections are very well done, its just eye candy for 45 min. This is a movie you could sit your mom down with and she would be just amazed with what she was seeing. Not just the riding, but the scenery.

The bar has been raised higher than ever. This movie could play at a film festival and do well. I dont think anyone has ever made something on this grand of a scale for a sports movie. If they have, I'd loved to see. So if you've been kind of curious to see this movie, BUY IT! It was worth every bit of waiting for the bluray to show up. Life Cyles blurays and dvds are in stock and ready to order.

Mountain biking films are quickly becoming big productions. With every start of the season, we are seeing more larger than life riding gracing the screens of our TV’s making us wish we could ride with skills we don’t have.

The latest to hit the TV of the Bike198 offices is the Blu-ray version of Life Cycles. Life Cycles takes a look at mountain biking and the life of a bike in a very unique way that I haven’t seen with other videos. While there is still some amazing riding from some of the best pros in the industry, Life Cycles also takes a look at the land and the sensation a bike creates in our lives over time.

With a dramatic start showing us the inside of major manufacturing facilities in the bike industry, Life Cycles turns to majestic landscapes that morph with the seasons as riders shred the dirt. In one of our favorite scenes, Cam McCaul and Brandon Semenuk session dirt jumps hidden in a hayfield. The riders float in and out of the crops without even being able to see the takeoffs and landings.

If we have one complaint about Life Cycles…it would be that there is too much slow motion. While we like to see exactly how the riders are moving, some full speed shots mixed in with the slow speed would give a better reference on how fast the pros really ride. However, the unique angles and artistry that you get with Life Cycles gives you a birds eye view into each riders unique style like we really haven’t seen in any other film. If you are into photography or video, you will really appreciate the amount of time and effort put into this film to get every scene exactly perfect.

Life Cycles mixes some of the best cinematography and imagery in any mountain bike film and mixes that with the raw emotion that comes with the bond between man and machine. When you add that to the clarity of Blu-ray…this movie is a must have in the video collection of any mountain biker.
